Kim Banks

Kim Banks is a Business Partner at BBSI San Luis Obispo, bringing more than 25 years of human resources and operational experience, primarily within the hospitality and restaurant industries. Her expertise centers on culture creation, employee selection and retention, labor law compliance, and employee development, with a strong focus on building sustainable organizations. After more than 20 years in hospitality, Kim relocated to San Luis Obispo County and worked in the nonprofit sector before joining BBSI in 2015 as an HR Consultant, later advancing to Business Partner. Throughout her career, Kim has held senior HR leadership roles, including Vice President of Human Resources for Commune Hotels and Resorts, Corporate Director of HR for Joie de Vivre Hospitality, Regional HR Director for Pacific Hotel Management, and Corporate HR/Sales for Pan Pacific Hotels, North America. Her operational background includes work with respected brands such as Nordstrom, Disneyland, and The Ritz‑Carlton Hotel, Laguna Niguel. During her tenure at BBSI, the San Luis Obispo office grew from 25 clients to more than 110 clients, serving primarily small, family‑owned businesses in the construction trades. Kim is deeply committed to business sustainability, stability, and growth, and she actively advocates for local employers through her service on the Board of Directors for the Employer Advisory Council of San Luis Obispo County and the South County Chamber of Commerce.
