Kim Banks is a BBSI Business Partner who grew her 25+ year Human Resources career within the Hospitality and Restaurant industries. Kim built her expertise with an emphasis on creating unique cultures, employee selection and retention, labor law compliance, and employee development. After over 20 years in the hospitality sector, Kim moved to San Luis Obispo County and began working for a local non-profit. In 2015, Kim joined BBSI as a Human Resources Consultant and was later promoted to Business Partner. Throughout her career, Kim has enjoyed working for great organizations. In the Human Resources arena, she served as VP of Human Resources for Commune Hotels and Resorts, Corporate Director of HR for Joie de Vivre Hospitality, Regional HR Director for Pacific Hotel Management and Corporate HR/Sales for Pan Pacific Hotels, North America. In operations, Kim worked for a variety of Southern California restaurants and retail establishments, which included great companies such as Nordstrom, Disneyland, and The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Laguna Niguel. For the past decade, Kim has worked closely with several non-profits, ensuring their focus is on mission and culture building. During her tenure with BBSI, the San Luis Obispo office grew from 25 clients to over 110 clients, with businesses predominantly in the construction trades. Focused on the sustainability of small, family-owned businesses, Kim works closely with her clients to ensure stability and growth. Kim’s passion to advocate for local businesses is evident in her service on the Board of Directors for the Employer Advisory Council of San Luis Obispo County and the South County Chamber of Commerce.
