Enjoy premium predictability, eliminate year-end audits, and reduce the frequency of costly claims.

Pay-As-You-Go Insurance Premiums

Rather than year-end premium audits revealing excess payments, or underpayments triggering a large premium bill, our pay-as-you-go model adjusts your premium costs monthly.

Monthly premiums provide you with financial flexibility and predictability, freeing up capital to put toward other critical areas of your business.

Shared Coverage Responsibility

Our unique workers' compensation model allows us to offer you best-in-class coverage and flexible pricing based on your claim history and safety culture.

The foundation of this model is our commitment to mitigating your operational risks and preventing on-the-job injuries. Your Risk Consultant will lead the way, implementing programs and leading safety trainings that strengthen your safety culture, reduce your X-Mod, and save you premium dollars.

Proactive Risk Management

When it comes to managing risk, we’re all about being proactive. We’ll conduct a gap analysis to identify what factors of your operations pose the most risk to your employees and to your financial health, and then formulate a plan to remedy them.

Our goal is to decrease any potential for workers compensation claims and improve your X-Mod, so you can run your business more profitably and efficiently.

We consider our company very fortunate to have partnered with BBSI. Not only has it simplified our workers’ compensation reporting process, it has reduced our expenses and provided us with invaluable Human Resources assistance, personnel training, and risk management assessments.

We moved to BBSI due to our X-Mod increase, but I had no idea the support we would be receiving by joining BBSI. I feel my BBSI team works at Cornerstone. I have HR at my fingertips along with Risk Management, and the management of claims is the best I’ve ever had in 27 years of working in construction. These services are priceless.

Frequently Asked Questions

If one of my employees is injured, can BBSI help?

In the event of an injury, our claims process is structured to prioritize employee access to quality care. Our 24/7 Nurse Triage Hotline instantly connects your injured employee with a registered nurse who will gather incident information and recommend at-home remedies, first aid, telehealth, and/or in-person medical attention. The employee and their information will be routed to the nearest preferred provider, and the claim will be forwarded to our claims team for processing.

Your BBSI Risk Consultant can also work with you to develop a Modified Duty Program, which helps injured employees return to work more quickly, reduces risks for re-injury, and strengthens your organizational culture.

My premium costs are manageable - why should I change my workers compensation insurance carrier?

Switching carriers may provide you with more tailored, cost-effective coverage that better suits your specific needs. Evaluating your options can help ensure you're getting the best value for your investment, and making a change could save you even more premium dollars, provide better support for your employees in the event of an injury, and coverage for your business that can scale with you as your business grows.

What’s an X-Mod, and what does it have to do with my premium?

Your X-Mod, also known as your experience modifier or EMR, increases every time you experience a new workers compensation claim, compounding the costs of your policy and increasing your premium. It's the frequency of claims that negatively affects your X-Mod, not just the severity of claims, meaning minor and unpredictable incidents will still cost you premium dollars.

Your BBSI Risk Consultant will work with you to identify workplace hazards, mitigate preventable incidents, and conduct on-site safety trainings to protect your team and keep your X-Mod as low as possible.

Can I keep workers' comp with my own insurance carrier?

Certainly, but while our competitors may have restrictions, we embrace flexibility. Our approach to pricing workers' compensation is highly competitive. We offer standard coverage that doubles the norm, along with a pay-as-you-go rate. This allows us to adjust the amount per paycheck to accommodate fluctuations in employee numbers. With us, there are no upfront deposits, down payments, or end-of-year reconciliations. You simply pay for workers' compensation based on your real-time number of employees.
