Four team members from BBSI’s Yakima, Moses Lake, and Hermiston branches volunteered with Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity during its annual Women Build event, held in recognition of International Women’s Day.
Building a Home for a Local Family
The team worked alongside other volunteers to help build a home for a local single mother and her three children. The project highlights the impact community partnerships can have by providing safe, stable housing for families who need it most. The home was close to completion during the event, with the family expected to move in the following month.
Empowering Women Through Community Work
Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build brings women together to take part in home construction while supporting affordable housing efforts in their communities. It also helps create space for learning new skills, building confidence, and working toward a shared goal.
“I think International Women’s Day and projects like this are so important for women to know that they can do anything,” said Roshelle Pavlin, BBSI Yakima Human Resources Consultant. “There are no limits.”
Local Recognition & Community Impact
The event was featured by Yakima’s NBC Right Now on March 8, 2022, helping highlight the work of volunteers and the importance of programs like Women Build.
BBSI’s participation reflects its broader commitment to supporting local communities and encouraging employees to get involved in meaningful volunteer efforts.
